College Prep Testing
Freshmen: EXPLORE Test
Designed to help 9th grade students explore the world of possibilities open to them and make the most of their opportunities in high school and beyond. EXPLORE contains four tests-English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science and are consistent with, and should be seen as logical precursors to, the content and skills measured in PLAN and the ACT.
Sophomores: PLAN Test
The PLAN test is an important step toward making college a reality. It helps you and your son or daughter identify:
- Skills and knowledge they need to succeed in college
- Areas where they need extra help or additional courses
- Career areas that match their interests
- Provides an estimated ACT score-one of the best indicators of readiness for college
- Connects your son or daughter to more information about college and financial aid choices
Juniors: ASVAB Test
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is designed to help test takers learn about their interests, abilities, and personal preferences in relation to career opportunities, both military and civilian. It assesses aptitude in 5 career areas and is useful in making selection and placement decisions regarding college preparation.
