Admissions Policies

  1. St. Joseph School will admit students of any race, color, handicap, national or ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to other students. St. Joseph School Staff is committed to meeting the needs of all students, in so far as possible. There are some conditions, however, for which the school cannot provide the necessary resources. St. Joseph may not be able to accept students with learning disabilities whose needs we are unable to meet, determined during a trial period.

  2. All students are accepted on a probationary basis, both academically and behaviorally. The usual probation period is 9 weeks, a full marking period. Final decisions regarding admission and placement rest with the administration. An application for admissions must be completed before the admission process begins.

  3. The specific procedures for student admissions are outlined in the Admissions Application Packet which may be obtained from our website.

  4. A student will not be readmitted if there are any outstanding balances from the previous year.

  5. Age Requirements: According to the Diocesan regulations and State law, no child shall be admitted to Kindergarten unless he or she has attained the age of five (5) years for Kindergarten or six (6) years for 1st Grade on or before September 1st of such school year.

  6. We do not accept students who have been expelled from another school or from St. Joseph. Past behavior and Christian conduct will be considered as part of the enrollment recommendation for all grades.
