St. Joseph School has been holding an art camp each morning this week on the high school campus through June 28. Fifteen children, ranging from entering 2nd-7th graders, are participating. The instructors are high school art teacher Penny Bassham and Patricia McCauley, an art teacher at Pine Forest Elementary School in Maumelle.
Some of the projects the children have been engaging in include drawing fantasy fish, which they're transferring to t-shirts, painting ceramic monster plates, creating abstract cardboard faces in Picasso style, and building and decorating creature homes made from toilet paper or paper towel rolls, colored paper, and model magic. Entering 4th grader Ava Moix is seen here with her completed creature home.
