Eight Catholic sisters and brothers visited our school yesterday in conjunction with National Vocations Awareness Week. This annual celebration is dedicated to promoting religious vocations to the priesthood, diaconate, and consecrated life through prayer and education and to renew prayers and support for those considering one of these vocations.
These visitors talked to groups of students on each campus relating stories of their own spiritual journeys and answering questions. Seen here, starting with the Sister seated and working up and around left to right, were Sister Margarita Molina, with the Missionary Carmelites of St. Teresa; Sister M. Cecilia Nguyen, Vocations Director of the Congregation of Olivetan Benedictines at the Holy Angels Convent in Jonesboro; Sister Carolyn Enders, with the Brothers and Sisters of Charity at Little Portion Hermitage and Monastery in Berryville; Brother Ambrose Fryer from the Subiaco Monastery at Subiaco; Missionary Carmelite Sisters Nohemi Lara, Aquilina Cari, and Carolina Hernandez; and Brother Maximilian Kobe from the Little Portion Hermitage and Monastery. Two Sisters of Mercy of the Americas who are not seen in the group photo also interacted with the children; Sister Anita DeSalvo, RSM and Sister Lisa Atkins, RSM.
