Faulkner County Circuit Judge Troy Braswell talked with the Senior Class of St. Joseph School on October 17th about considering participation in Teen Court. Interested students complete application forms and, if chosen, serve in various courtroom positions, including as jurors, bailiffs, prosecutors and defense attorneys.
The purpose of Teen Court is to give young misdemeanor offenders who participate the chance to face less-severe sentences than they would in a traditional court. Judge Braswell presides over the trials but the teen juries' decisions are binding.
