St. Joseph Elementary and Middle Schools recently learned a lot about electrical safety and were treated to a magic show at the same time. Scott Davis of Hot Springs has been performing slight of hand for many years and has written a program for the Electrical Cooperatives of Arkansas he calls "Making Accidents Disappear." He visits schools throughout the state entertaining children with his comic tricks and illusions while teaching important safety lessons. Davis says "Accidents, not diseases, are the number one killers of children in America."
"Mr. Davis emphasized the importance of stop, look and think near electricity," Assistant Principal Amy Rehm said. "His safety tips included stay away from power lines, do not mix electricity and water, and don't stick anything other than a plug into an electric outlet. The kids were engaged and entertained the whole time."
