It was a muddy day at Oaklawn Park yesterday which is never good for horses or humans! Our boys and girls cross country teams persevered under those conditions at the State Meet. There were no medals awarded as they only went to the Top Ten finishers in a 5K race.
Freshman Travis Jackson, in his first state run, came in 14th with a time of 20:02:74. Junior Vince Porcaro crossed the finish line in 19th Place at 20:21:75. As a team, St. Joseph earned 4th Place behind Ozark Catholic, Caddo Hills and Acorn High School.
Our Lady Bulldogs team also ran a 5K with sophomore Avery Cooper clocking in at 24:29 for 23rd Place. This competition brought the cross country season to a close. It was a very good year with several medals and awards being won. Thanks to every runner who consistently gave it their all and to Coach Larry Trussell for guiding and encouraging them. Go Bulldogs!
