Spelling Bee Winners

St. Joseph High School held its annual spelling bee for 7th and 8th grade students today. English teacher Alicia Yrle organized the bee and served as its pronouncer. Seventh grader Tyson Mallett was named the winner by correctly spelling "prodigal." Eighth grader Khrystian Hoyt earned 2nd Place while 3d Place went to 7th grader Sunshine Scarborough. The competition is always limited to those grades because the county and state bees do the same.

Tyson and Khrystian will participate in the Faulkner County Spelling Bee on February 4th at Conway High School's James H. Clark Auditorium. Sunshine will be an alternate should either of the other contestants not be able to attend.
