Junior Anna Wade froze a rose with liquid nitrogen in Mr. Jim Belote's Chemistry class on January 11. When she tapped it on the lab counter it shattered like glass. That's because the liquid nitrogen dramatically changes the properties of things it comes in contact with. Demonstrations like this were led by Mr. Belote's cousin Donnie who's frequently handled liquid nitrogen in his work.
