Framed pictures of Our Lady of Guadalupe purchased for St. Joseph School from the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City were distributed after a high school Mass on March 7 by Fathers Tony Robbins and Alfhones Perikala. Individual students took them back to their classrooms for permanent display.
The school's middle and elementary campuses will also receive the pictures. "It is my desire that all our parishioners understand the significance of what God has done in converting the new world through the Apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary to St. Juan Diego in the 16th Century," Father Tony said. "The basic message and purpose of these historical events is nothing but good. 'Am I not here, I, who am your mother? Are you not under my shadow and protection? Am I not the source of your joy? Are you not in the hollow of my mantle, in the crossing of my arms? Do you need anything more? Let nothing else worry you, disturb you.' These words of Our Blessed Mother were spoken to St. Juan Diego in one of the apparitions brings us the consolation of the Holy Spirit."
Father Tony further stated that having these images seen throughout the school will help everyone to turn to God with their concerns through the attentive prayers of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
