At St. Joseph High School, seniors in Mr. McCrary’s World History Class played the Civilization game to kick off the year. "This game simulated from 'hunters and gathers' all the way to the modern era. The students had to make decisions on where they would live, what they would build, and how they would govern and provide for their neighbors/citizens. The game previews everything that world history is about, from survival to the creation of complex societies. For the first time ever playing this game, there was a tie for first place!" commented Mr. McCrary, Social Studies Department Chair and World History Teacher. At St. Joseph Elementary, our first grade students and teachers spent the afternoon celebrating as Q and U tied the knot!
"In phonics, we learn that Q is never without U, so we decided to make it official! Our students got to watch Q and U say 'I do' and then celebrate with a fun wedding reception! Father Booker helped us officiate the ceremony, and Mrs. Covington and her wonderful fiancé Evan helped us out as well.
The dance floor was definitely the place to be, and our first graders danced their hearts out!
We had SO much fun celebrating our favorite phonics pair and making these sweet memories together!" explained Mrs. Hannah Yrle, 1st Grade Teacher.

At St. Joseph Elementary this week, the kindergarten classes have been learning how to respectfully make the sign of the cross. In order to do this, they made “cross buddies” so that they can show others how to correctly make the sign of the cross.

Our 6th grade scientists have been hard at work this week!
Whether it was working through problems involving water displacement, finding the volume of a solid, or calculating density, these students had lots of fun learning in action in their Measure Density Lab with Mrs. Gooch, 6th grade Science Teacher! #FaithLearningLiving

Yesterday in Ms. Gooch's 5th grade science class, students had the opportunity to be scientists with a “Is It Still There?” Sugar & Salt Dissolving Mini Lab!
"Students investigated what happens when sugar and salt dissolve in water. They made predictions, recorded observations, compared their results, and used evidence to think about an important question: Is the matter still there even when we can no longer see it?" explained Mrs. Gooch.
